What our students say

Denisa, from Slovakia, studied Business & Computerised Accounting

I was very nervous when I started college, especially as my English wasn’t very good, but my tutor was great.  She helped me with everything like filling in forms, understanding bus information and helping me get around places. The support I got in class was really good – I had help with essay writing, note taking and presentation skills.  I made friends with local students and students from other countries.  I even keep in touch with people who have moved on.  My vocabulary also increased to a high standard which made it easier for me to study at university.

Lin Yong, from China, studied English for Academic Purposes

Studying at Coleg Gwent helped me to improve my English so I could go on to university.  Being among other International students from other countries I had lots of opportunities to practice my English as it was our common language.  The teachers and staff were all really helpful, helping me to settle in during my first week.

Olga Tunkevic, studied IELTS

My friends recommended Coleg Gwent because of the good teachers. I like the Learning Resource Centre as I can find everything I need to study. I think it’s good that the Learning Resource Centre has the dictionary in all different languages.

Rukhsana Ali, studied General English

I decided to study in Coleg Gwent as I wanted to improve my English. I like the way the teachers teach, the lessons are very interesting and I feel comfortable asking a question at any time during my lesson.

Ajmal Hossain, from Bangladesh, studied English for Academic Purposes

Coleg Gwent has fantastic facilities, other students and the staff are really friendly and the location means I have good access to local shops and transport.
