Coleg Gwent classed as excellent again by Welsh Government

24 May 2019

The latest Welsh Government Learner Outcomes Report for 2017/18 demonstrates again, that for the fourth year running, Coleg Gwent is one of Wales’ top performing colleges.

The college ranks joint first for vocational qualifications and joint first for all main qualifications, providing above national pass rates for 3 years running.

The college is the only one in Wales to have 18 different subject sector areas categorised as ‘excellent’ for main qualifications – no other college has achieved this many.

The Learner Outcome Report is published by the Welsh Government and shows each further education provider’s overall performance taken from the Lifelong Learning Wales Record (LLWR). Its aim is to inform employers, parents and the general public about the standard of qualifications achieved.

Coleg Gwent Principal, Guy Lacey, said, “We are absolutely delighted to have such an excellent Learners Outcome Report – these reports are very important to us as they represent the outcomes of our learners. It shows our commitment to providing a first class education to all our students.”
