Do you have the skills and experience to help lead one of the most successful colleges in Wales?

Coleg Gwent Further Education Corporation
Coleg Gwent is looking for exceptional individuals to join the Board of Governors. Chair of Governors, Angela Lloyd stated:
“This is a highly rewarding voluntary role where you can make a significant contribution. We are an ambitious college and our aim is to be the college of choice for learners and employers alike”.
The college has excellent learner outcomes in both academic and vocational subjects, and over 20,000 students every year choose to study a wide range of academic, vocational, work-based and professional courses.
Governors play a critical role and are responsible for setting the educational character and mission of the College and ensuring it meets its strategic objectives. The Board also sets the annual budget and must ensure the financial sustainability of the College. To do this, they work closely with the senior management team and provide strong strategic leadership and oversight.
Coleg Gwent Governance Officer, Marie Carter added:
“We are looking for someone with a genuine interest in education, training and skills who has experience in senior leadership roles. Candidates need to have an ambitious, entrepreneurial outlook and be able to think strategically. Ideally, we would like to hear from individuals with a strong understanding of the needs of employers in the South Wales region.”
To make sure the Board has the right balance of skills and expertise, applications would be especially welcome from those with a background in law, digital technologies, marketing, regeneration or business management.
