In a nutshell
This course is simply designed to develop your skills in beauty therapy and nail services and provide you with the basis for further learning or specialist employment in the beauty industry.
This course is for...
…anyone wanting to work in the beauty industry, particularly those wanting to specialise in nail treatments.
The VTCT Level 3 NVQ Award in Nail Enhancements using UV Gel has been specifically designed to develop your practical skills in providing nail enhancement techniques using UV gel systems, as well as learning about the condition of the skin and nails. This qualification is approved and supported by the Hairdressing and Beauty Industry Authority (HABIA), the standard setting body for hair, beauty, nails and spa qualifications.
You’ll need to be self-motivated, hardworking, have a friendly personality and a high level of personal presentation, and be committed to full attendance and punctuality for all sessions. You’ll be expected to work on realistic clients in a commercial environment and also be responsible for developing your own 'client base'.
You’ll be assessed using a combination of observed work, witness statements, audio-visual media, written and oral questions, assignments and case studies.
After this course, you could progress to further qualifications, such as VTCT Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Nail Services, VTCT Level 3 Diploma in Theatrical, Special Effects, Hair and Media Make-up or VTCT Level 3 Diploma in Nail Technology. You could also go directly into employment or self-employment.
You’ll be aged 16 or over with an interest in or working in the beauty industry, and need to be working at Levels 1 or 2 in Literacy.
