If you’ve ever felt vulnerable in certain situations, learning self-defence skills will help to build your confidence and maintain fitness. This three-hour workshop is an ideal starting point, as it covers basic self-defence and self-protection techniques.

…anyone aged 16 or over who’s keen to learn more about self-defence techniques.
This workshop will raise your awareness of the basic defence skills you can use against common types of attacks, including how to defend yourself against multiple aggressors.
There are many other benefits to learning self-defence, which include:

- Reduced stress
You’ll need to commit to full attendance and taking part in the activities, and while there’s no formal qualification you’ll get verbal feedback during the workshop. After completing the course, you could consider joining a local club or trying one of our other part-time courses.
There are no formal entry requirements, you just need an interest in the subject.
You should wear suitable clothing for light exercise, and must tell your instructor if you’re unable to take part in the more physical activities. There’s a contribution of £5 per learner for this course.
