In a nutshell
This course allows you to learn photography in an enjoyable way. You will achieve a Coleg Gwent Certificate in Photography, but the emphasis for the course is on building skills and enjoying photography.

Anyone who works or wants to start or improve with their photography, get to know their camera better or challenge themselves with artistic photography.
Course content
You will cover:
- Shutter speed/aperture/ISO
- Composition
- Experimental angles
- Photoshop manipulations
- Landscape photography
- Manual mode
- Portrait photography
- Studio photography
The course is structured around learning a topic or subject in class on a weekly basis and photographing accordingly. There’ll be two location trips/field trips throughout the course, and you’ll get feedback from tutors and peers on a weekly basis.
You'll need regular attendance and an enthusiasm for the subject. You will be expected to participate in group projects to produce imagery.
Entry Requirements
You will require access to a good quality digital camera.

Beyond this course there is a progression route for you to enrol onto the Advancing Photography evening course.
