What will I be doing?
You'll take advantage of our state-of-the-art theatre and dedicated rehearsal spaces. Study options include:
- The performing arts business
- Devising, scripting and performing plays
- Musical theatre
You’ll be continually assessed, mostly through practical assignments, with written work underpinning the skills being developed as an acting student. Your work will be externally moderated. On completion, you’ll achieve:
What is expected of me?
To qualify for the course, you’ll need a minimum of 4 GCSEs, Grade D or above, to include either Maths/Maths Numeracy or English/Welsh First Language, or an appropriate Level 1 Diploma qualification in the relevant vocational area to include either GCSE Maths/Maths Numeracy or English/Welsh First Language.
Full commitment to attendance is required, as well as respect for others, enthusiasm for the subject, self-motivation, creative ability and a desire to succeed. You should have an interest in drama and some basic performance experience.
What comes next?
On successful completion at Merit Level of the Level 2 Diploma, you can apply for the Extended Diploma Performing Arts or other Level 3 study.
As part of the entry requirements, you’ll be expected to attend a taster session, where you’ll take part in an audition
