In a nutshell

Good health and safety can improve productivity as fewer hours are lost due to sickness and accidents; establish a company-wide safety awareness culture and appreciation for safety measures; involve staff in improving the workplace; and enhance your reputation in the supply chain.

This 1 day course is ideal as a general introduction to health and safety – it’s a nationally respected certification, recognised by CSCS as an equivalent to a Level 1 Award in health and safety in a construction environment.

This course is for...

…anyone at any level, in any sector, that needs a grounding in health and safety.

Course content

By doing this course, you’ll gain an understanding of:

  • Working safely
  • Defining hazard and risk
  • Identifying common hazards
  • Improving safety performance
  • Protecting our environment

You’ll be assessed using a multi-format question paper and multiple choice hazard spotting exercise, and once you’ve passed you can choose the IOSH Working safely certificate and/ or the IOSH safety passport as proof of your qualification.
