You will cover a range of practical and theory aspects relating to PLCs. Courses will be customised to meet the needs of the group and may include:

Induction:

· Digital Inputs & Outputs

· Memory Mapping

Obtaining Information, to include:

· Quality & Safe Working Practices

· Project Information

· Safety Instructions

· Codes of Practice

· Block Diagrams & Drawings

· Change Control

Tools & Equipment:

· Electro/Pneumatic Rig, Siemens, Mitsubishi & Alan-Bradley PLC’s

Sequence of Operation, to include:

· Physical Installation

· Define Wiring

· Define the Programme Method

· Define the Test Plan

Installing, to include:

· Equipment

· Drawings

· Environmental Specifications

Connecting, to include:

· Obtaining Information

· Test Plan

· Tools & Equipment

Entry Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements, just an interest in the subject.

Additional information

The course duration will depend upon the depth and level of training required (one day to several weeks) and are available in-house or at Coleg Gwent Crosskeys Campus Engineering Workshop.
