This course covers the repair and servicing of cars and light vehicles and all aspects of repair and maintenance, including electrical and electronic work and use of IT.

What will I be doing?
The course offers Apprenticeship opportunities in both small independent garages and large main dealerships.
You'll learn through:
- Practical demonstrations
- Realistic working tasks
- Lectures to develop foundation knowledge
- Assignment work
You’ll be assessed via realistic working environments, practical assessments and written assignments. Upon completion, you’ll gain:
What is expected of me?
To enter this course, you’ll need a minimum of 4 GCSEs, Grade G or above, to include Maths/Maths Numeracy and English/Welsh First Language, or an appropriate Entry Level qualification.
Full commitment to attendance is required, as is the ability to work independently and as part of a team. You should have a strong desire to work in the motor vehicle industry, abide by the college ethos and be willing to participate in improving your level of academic subjects.
What comes next?
Level 2 Diploma Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or an Apprenticeship.
You’ll need to purchase appropriate Personal Protective Equipment, such as boots and overalls, the cost of which is approximately £40.00. You’ll also need to supply your own stationery and folders.
