In a nutshell
If you’re already in, or looking to be in a leadership role, this course is designed primarily to develop your core leadership skills. It’s delivered by experienced tutors who have themselves held management positions, and training is practical, participative and linked back to the workplace.
This course is for you if...
…practicing team and cell leaders.
…members of self-managed teams.
…new or aspiring team leaders.
What will I be doing?
This 2-day course aims to give you the foundation for becoming more effective and confident in your leadership role. It covers two units from the Level 2 qualification:
- Understanding effective working teams – to develop your skills in making sure teams work effectively.
- Planning and monitoring work – to develop your understanding and ability to plan and monitor the work of the team effectively and efficiently.
You’ll also have trainer-led workshops for each unit and will produce a written assignment. Throughout, you’ll be supported by the trainer to reach the necessary standard.
Once you’ve successfully complete the assessments you’ll be awarded an Institute of Leadership & Management (ILM) Level 2 Award in Leadership & Team Skills. You can also progress to the ILM Level 2 Certificate in Leadership & Team Skills by adding further units to the ones you’ve already achieved, or may want to undertake the ILM Level 2 (NVQ) Diploma in Team Leading or progress to the ILM Level 3 Award in Leadership & Management.
