What will I be doing?
You will study a range of modules including
- Working in engineering
- Maths and science
- Computer aided design and manufacture
You will do a mixture of workshop practical assessments, and short theory assessments.
You will also develop your Maths, English and employability skills.
If you have not already got a grade C in Maths and/or English GCSEs, you can retake these.
What is expected of me?
To enrol you’ll need a minimum of 4 GCSEs grade G or above, to include Maths and English at grade E or above (or Welsh as a first language)
What comes next?
This course is designed for progression to a Level 2 Diploma in Engineering Technology.
Typical job roles this qualification leads to include:
- Mechanical Fitter,
- Maintenance Engineer,
- Manufacturing Engineer,
- Electrical Engineer,
- Electronics Engineer,
- Sheet Metal Worker,
- CNC operator.
You’ll need Personal Protective Equipment, such as boots and overalls, the cost of which is approximately £40.00. You’ll also need to supply your own stationery and folders.
