In a nutshell

Ideal if you’re in an outdoors profession or working in agriculture, this course teaches you the essential skills associated with felling small trees.

This course is for...

…a career in an outdoor job, such as gardening, woodland management or agriculture

…those who’ve already taken the CS30 course on chainsaw safety and maintenance

Course content

Building on the topics covered in the CS30 course including current legislation, fundamentals of chainsaw operation and safe use and maintenance of the chainsaw, this course goes on to include the felling of trees up to 379mm in diameter.

 

On completion, you could go on to study the NPTC CS32, CS38 and CS39 courses.

Entry Requirements

There are no formal requirements, but you must be at least 16 years old and preferably have taken the CS30 course.

Additional information

You’ll need to provide:

  • Your own personal protective/safety clothing – however these can be provided if necessary
  • Two passport-sized photographs
  • A packed lunch and flask, although refreshments are available to buy on site

The course lasts three days plus a half day assessment.
