What will I be doing?
You’ll develop the fundamental skills of the industry, along with a more specialist set of skills. The course units are:
- Worldwide travel and tourism
- UK travel and tourism
- Resort representatives
- Visitor attractions
- Tour operations
- Activity tourism
- Planning an event
Upon completion of the course, you’ll gain the following qualifications:
What is expected of me?
To enter the course, you’ll need a minimum of 4 GCSEs Grade D or above to include either Maths/Maths Numeracy or English/Welsh First Language, or an appropriate Level 1 Diploma qualification in the relevant vocational area to include either GCSE Maths/Maths Numeracy or English/Welsh First Language.
You must show an enthusiasm for the travel and tourism industry. You’ll need to be self-motivated, hardworking, and numerate and have a friendly personality. Attendance and punctuality for all sessions is a major requirement of this course.
What comes next?
BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma Travel and Tourism.
Full time learners will be required to purchase a uniform which will cost between £90and £140, as well as to pay for trips and visits which will cost approximately £100.
