What will I be doing?
Subjects covered typically include:
- Handling and storing resources
- Contributing to work relationships
- Contributing to providing working platforms
- Clearing and protecting the work area
- Working safely
The course will also include trade specific studies such as:
- Preparing surfaces and plastering materials
- Application of plastering materials to internal backgrounds
- How to produce components from moulds
The course is delivered through both practical sessions, in excellent workshop facilities, and theory lessons to underpin the knowledge learnt in the practical sessions.
The course is assessed through practical projects, written and online tests, and, once complete, you’ll gain:
What is expected of me?
To enter, you’ll need a minimum of 4 GCSEs, Grade G or above, to include Maths/Maths Numeracy and English/Welsh First Language, or an appropriate Entry Level qualification.
You need to have a desire to work in the construction industry. Full commitment to attendance is required, as is respect for others, enthusiasm for the subject and self-motivation. You’ll be continually assessed and there’s an expectation that you’ll continue your studies and coursework during your own time.
What comes next?
Level 2 Diploma Plastering as an Apprenticeship, or employment.
You’ll need to undertake a construction industry assessment to help determine the most appropriate course.
