This course is for...
…anyone aged 19 or over who’s interested in pursuing a career in hairdressing.
Course content
On the course you’ll learn how to complete client consultations, shampooing and conditioning the hair, styling, dressing and finishing the hair and basic cutting and colouring techniques. You’ll carry out reception duties, offer advice to customers and promote products and services to clients.
You’ll be assessed on your skills and knowledge as you work through each of the units in the salons, and on successfully completing the course you could progress on to NVQ Level 3 Diploma/Certificate in Hairdressing or work as a newly qualified junior stylist in a commercial salon, or on a self-employed basis.
Entry Requirements
You’ll need a Level 1 qualification in hairdressing and/or a successful interview.
Additional information
You’ll need to buy a uniform and kit up to the value of £150.
