…anyone hoping to start a career as a nail technician.
You’ll learn all about a range of treatments for the hands and feet to improve their condition and appearance including manicures, pedicures, nail art and nail enhancement techniques (acrylic, gel and fibreglass), as well as how to undertake client consultations, retailing and salon reception duties – the college has up to date salons that create an excellent realistic working environment for all practical treatments. You’ll also gain appropriate supporting qualifications to broaden your skill set and meet the needs of industry.
You’ll need to be committed to full attendance and punctuality for all sessions, and expected to have a high level of professional behaviour and good work ethic.
Assessments will be through a combination of a portfolio of practical assessments for each unit, assignments and tasks and multiple choice tests covering the underpinning knowledge, and on successful completion you could begin work or move on to VRQ Level 3 Diploma in Nail Technology.
You’ll need at least 4 GCSEs grade D or above to include either Maths or English/Welsh First Language, or an appropriate Level 1 Diploma qualification.
The dress code for our salon is:
- Tunic with trousers and black shoes
- Hair neatly tied back off the face
- No piercings – only a wedding ring can be worn
You’ll be expected to buy a uniform and kit for the course.
