You will need to have Level 1 Hairdressing as an entry qualification to this course or equivalent hairdressing experience.

What will I be doing?
You'll learn about:

- blow drying
- setting hair
- permanent waving
- reception skills

- Practical workshops
- Real salon environments at the college
- Commercial sessions
- Role play exercises
- Group work
- Work placement
You’ll be assessed through:
- Practical and written assessments/assignments
- Presentations and demonstrations
- Portfolios of work
- Performance and observations
From studying this course you’ll achieve:
- Level 2 Hairdressing
What is expected of me?
You will need to be self-motivated, hardworking, numerate and have a friendly personality.
There will be an expectation that you attend a work placement in your programme.
All sessions take place on campus and there will be one evening a week when you will be in college until late.
What comes next?
Upon completion, you can progress onto a Level 3 Diploma in Women's Hairdressing or employment.
The cost of this course is approximately £165
- Hair must be neatly tied back off the face
- Nail extensions and varnish must not be worn
- No piercings and only a wedding ring is allowed to be worn in the salon
You will be expected to purchase a uniform, a book and a hairdressing kit as a condition of your place on the course.
