Apprenticeships involve a mix of learning in the workplace and college training, giving you the opportunity to practice and embed new skills in a real work environment.
You'll be assessed through coursework, tests, assignments, work-based observations and work-based evidence, and as you progress through the course you’ll achieve a number of qualifications as part of the Level 2 Apprenticeship Framework:
- Level 2 NVQ Diploma
- Level 2 Diploma
- Essential Skills Qualification Communication
- Essential Skills Qualification Application of Number
On completion, we expect you to be able to carry out your bricklaying role confidently and competently to the standard set by the Industry.
To qualify for this course, you’ll need a minimum of 5 GCSE grades D or above, to include English and Maths, and must be employed in the construction industry, be paid at least the national minimum apprenticeship wage and have a Contract of Employment. Your employer must also pass the necessary Health and Safety vetting.
Completing this course will enable you to move on to a Level 3 Apprenticeship programme. Our Bricklaying Apprenticeship is part-financed by the European Social Fund through the Welsh Government.
