What will I be doing?
At Level 2 you’ll learn a range of skills that will enable you to gain employment in the exciting world of beauty and nail services.
Treatments include manicures, pedicures, facials, eye treatments, wax depilation and makeup.
You’ll also learn how to undertake client consultations, retailing and salon reception duties as the college has up to date salons that create an excellent realistic working environment for all practical treatments to take place.
You’ll be assessed via a portfolio of practical assessments, assignments, tasks and multiple choice tests covering the underpinning knowledge. Once complete, you’ll achieve:
What is expected of me?
To be eligible for the course, you’ll need a minimum of 4 GCSEs grade D or above (to include either Maths/Numeracy or English/Welsh First Language) or an appropriate Level 1 Diploma qualification in the relevant vocational area (to include either GCSE Maths/Numeracy or English/Welsh First Language grade).
A high level of professional behaviour and work ethic is required when you go into employment in the industry, so attendance and punctuality for all sessions is a major requirement of this course.

Dresscode (you’ll need to purchase a kit and uniform for this course)
- Uniform which must be worn for all practical sessions.
- Kits must be brought to every practical session
- Hair must be neatly tied back off the face
- No piercings
- No jewellery other than a wedding ring is allowed to be worn in the salon
