What will I be doing?
At Level 2 you’ll learn a range of skills that will enable you to gain employment in the exciting world of beauty and nail services.
Treatments include manicures, pedicures, nail art and nail enhancement techniques (acrylic, gel and fibreglass). Facials, eye treatments, wax depilation and makeup.
You’ll also learn how to undertake client consultations, retailing and salon reception duties as the college has up to date salons that create an excellent realistic working environment for all practical treatments to take place. There will also be an element of the principles of spa treatments.
You’ll be assessed via a portfolio of practical assessments, assignments, tasks and multiple choice tests covering the underpinning knowledge. Once complete, you’ll achieve:
What is expected of me?
To enter the course, you’ll need a minimum of 4 GCSEs grade D or above to include either Maths/Numeracy or English/Welsh First Language; or an appropriate Level 1 Diploma qualification in the relevant vocational area to include either GCSE Maths/Numeracy or English/Welsh First Language grade
A high level of professional behaviour and work ethic is required when you go into employment in the industry. Attendance and punctuality for all sessions is a major requirement of this course.

Code of dress:
- Hair must be neatly tied back off the face
- No piercings
- No jewellery other than a wedding ring is allowed to be worn in the salon
