C&G Diploma in Barbering Level 2

In a nutshell

If you want a career as a barber, this course is designed as a fast-track way to gain both Level 1 and Level 2 certificates over one year. You'll develop skills in cutting men's hair and gain an understanding of barbering techniques, services and equipment.

Course content

The course is run over 15 hours a week, and covers basic techniques including:

• Consultation to identify clients' needs
• Developing cutting/clipper techniques to achieve the desired look
• Use of products and equipment
• Health and safety in the salon
• Providing suitable aftercare service

You’ll need to be self-motivated, hardworking, have respect for others and an enthusiasm for the subject. Once you’ve completed the course, you’ll be able to progress on to NVQ Level 2 Hairdressing if you wish.

Entry Requirements

You'll need either a minimum of an award in any hairdressing discipline
or have experience of working in a barbers without any formal qualifications

Additional information

You’ll need to pay awarding body registration fees of approximately £63.00 and buy a barbering kit costing around £200.00.
