Course content

By the end of the course learners’ underpinning knowledge will enable them to apply appropriate manual metal arc welding techniques and procedures safely.

The course will cover the following:

  • The welding process and its application
  • The equipment, materials and consumables to the required depth to provide a sound basis for carrying out activities to the required specification
  • The safety precautions required when working with the manual arc welding equipment, the associated tools and equipment.

Learners will also be required to demonstrate safe working practices throughout to safeguard self and others in the workplace.
