What will I be doing?
This course is ideal for learners wanting to work in the health or social care industry, who want to undertake a regular work placement alongside a comprehensive vocational course.
You’ll study two mandatory and four optional units such as:
- Communication skills
- Understanding individual needs
- Anatomy and physiology
- Cultural diversity
You’ll learn through group work, classroom-based learning and a work experience, which is a compulsory part of the programme.
You’ll be assessed through case scenarios, multiple choice and examinations and you’ll achieve:
- Level 2 Health and Social Care
- Appropriate supporting qualifications to broaden your skill set and meet the needs of industry
- Skills Activities
- Maths and English
What is expected of me?
To enter the course, you’ll need a minimum of 4 GCSEs, Grade D or above, to include either Maths/Maths Numeracy or English/Welsh First Language, or an appropriate Level 1 Diploma qualification in the relevant vocational area, to include either GCSE Maths/Maths Numeracy or English/Welsh First Language.
Full commitment to attendance is required, as is respect for others, enthusiasm for the subject, self-motivation and a passion for the health and social care industry. You’ll be continually assessed and there is an expectation that you’ll continue your studies and coursework/work placement during your own time.
What comes next?
Opportunity to progress onto level 3 principles and values or level 2 City & Guilds practice (adults).
