BTEC Diploma in Music Industry Skills Level 2

What will I be doing?

Study includes performance, recording technology, sound technology and understanding music. The course is practically based with an emphasis on developing skills across music-based subjects. You also have access to a digital recording studio.

This course is delivered through:

• Group work
• Classroom based learning
• Tutorial support

You’ll plan, run and perform as part of three major music events throughout the year. Your skills as a musician and as a team member will be developed and challenged.

You’ll have access to a state-of-the-art theatre, sound and lighting facilities, which will be used to perform music nights. You'll also have access to our Mac suites with Logic X for recording.

You’ll be assessed regularly through external examination and internal assessment, both practically and theoretically and you’ll achieve:

• Level 2 Music
• Skills Activities
• Maths and English
• Other relevant qualifications to enhance your skill set

What is expected of me?

To enrol, you’ll need a minimum of 4 GCSEs Grade D or above to include either Maths/Maths Numeracy or English/Welsh First Language, or an appropriate Level 1 Diploma qualification in the relevant vocational area, to include either GCSE Maths/Maths Numeracy or English/Welsh First Language grade.

Full commitment to attendance is required, as well as espect for others, enthusiasm for the subject, self-motivation, creative ability and a desire to succeed. You’ll need an interest in performing arts and modern music development.
