AAT Diploma in Accounting Level 3
In a nutshell
A Personal Learning Account is a new initiative from the Welsh Government. It is a free and flexible way to learn. The initiative will offer people the chance to access free, part-time courses that offer flexible and convenient learning around their existing lifestyle.
Whether you’re already working in finance or not, this course will advance your understanding of bookkeeping principles and allow you to apply for AAT Associate Bookkeeping membership and achieve professional AATQB status.
This course is for...
...anyone over 19, living in Wales, in employment and earning less than £26,000 a year.
...taking the next step in your career in the Accounting sector.
...anyone who wants to develop the knowledge and experience needed to undertake account roles in a range of business settings.
The course will develop your skills to progress to the next level in accountancy, covering the following areas:
- Advanced Bookkeeping
- Final Accounts Preparation
- Management Accounting
- Ethics for Accountants
- Cash management
- Indirect tax (preparing VAT returns)
- Synoptic (which will assess all topics from the units above)
You’ll be assessed using practical computer-based assessments (CBAs) designed to reflect real-life tasks. On completion of the course, you’ll be able to progress into employment or on to the Professional Diploma in Accounting
To qualify for this course, you’ll need to have suitable accounting experience or completed the Foundation Certificate in Accounting Level 2.
The PLA scheme will cover the additional costs payable directly to the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) for course materials, and you’ll be expected to join and apply for membership of the AAT professional body.
