In a nutshell

This course includes the study of three media platforms - broadcast, print and e-media (the web and mobile technology).

Course content

The weighting for the A Level course is 60% examination and 40% coursework. The course comprises of two practical productions, allowing you to create electronic media, audio-visual and print materials, using Adobe Premier and Photoshop.

A Level Media requires you to sit one written examination in the summer term.

Entry Requirements

To enter, you’ll need a minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above, including English/Welsh First Language as well as Mathematics.

Full commitment to attendance is required, as is respect for others, enthusiasm for the subject and self-motivation. You’ll be continually assessed and there’s an expectation that you’ll continue your studies and coursework during your own time.

Additional information

You can progress to university courses in a media-based subject, such as TV and film studies, cultural studies or journalism, or any communication related courses.
