This course is available as part of a Personal Learning Account (PLA). PLA is an initiative from the Welsh Government which offers people the chance to access free, part-time courses with flexible and convenient learning that fits around their existing lifestyle (subject to eligibility).

Course content
This course is delivered by virtual classroom. Virtual classrooms are equivalent to face-to-face classroom courses, but delivered in an online environment.
Course Duration: 4 days
The AWS Cloud Practitioner certification will enable you to:
- Define what the AWS Cloud
- Describe key AWS Cloud architectural principles
- Explain the AWS Cloud value proposition
- Define the Pricing, Billing and Account management models
- Describe essential key services on the AWS platform
- Explain fundamental compliance and security aspects of the AWS platform and the shared security model
The modules you'll cover include:
- Cloud Concepts Introduction
- AWS terminology and concepts
- Foundational services: Amazon Elastic Compute
- Cloud (EC2), Amazon Virtual Private Cloud
- (VPC), Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3), and
- Amazon Elastic Block Store (EBS) AWS Core Services
- Database services: Amazon DynamoDB and
- Amazon Relational Database Service (RDS)
- AWS Architecting, and more!
Entry Requirements
AWS Cloud Practitioner - This exam is designed for candidates new to Cloud who may not have an information technology (IT) background. This exam is for line-of-business roles like sales, marketing, product or project management, to get a foundational understanding of AWS Cloud. Candidates for this exam could have up to 6 months of exposure to AWS Cloud, but this is not required.

The PLA programme intends to provide quality career advice and guidance to participants before, during and after their learning.
Prior to being enrolled onto your PLA funded course, an individual learning plan will be discussed with you to ensure that the right learning has been considered.
This will include a general discussion on the following topics:
- formal education or qualifications in related fields
- prior experience within the industry or field
- career aspirations
- dedication of time required
