Transform the way you work with the IEMA Environmental Sustainability Skills for Managers training course.
IEMA is the professional body for everyone working in environment and sustainability. This course will enable you to make a positive difference to your organisation’s environmental performance.
The course is intended to support managers and supervisors from any industry in understanding the strategic and operational implications environmental sustainability has on them, their team and department.
This course is available as part of a Personal Learning Account (PLA). PLA is an initiative from the Welsh Government which offers people the chance to access free, part-time courses with flexible and convenient learning that fits around their existing lifestyle (subject to eligibility).

... anyone over 19, living in Wales and in employment. The usual salary limit of £30,596 does not apply for this course.
... anyone who needs to gain a basic awareness of the principles of environmental sustainability.
Course content
The course is delivered as follows:
UNITS
Module 1 - Risks and opportunities from environmental sustainability
Module 2 - Laws and other compliance obligations
Module 3 - Key environmental sustainability issues
Module 4 - Improving environmental sustainability performance
Module 5 - Control of emissions to air
Module 6 - Control of environmental noise
Module 7 - Control of contamination of water sources
Module 8 - Control of waste and land use
Module 9 - Sources and use of energy and energy efficiency
ASSESSMENT
At the end of the course, you will undertake a short online multiple choice test.
The IEMA certificate will be issued upon successful completion.
Entry Requirements
There are no formal requirements, however it is important that learners have a suitable standard of English language in order to understand and articulate the concepts contained in the syllabus. No prior experience or knowledge is required.
Additional information
This course is delivered by eLearning. This means that you should be motivated to study in a self-paced, self-organised manner using an internet enabled device.
The course includes an exam which is invigilated online and you need to have access to an internet enabled device with a microphone and a webcam.
Course length is approx. 20 hours with 6 months online access provided (including sitting the exam).
