In a nutshell
This qualification is aimed at those who have responsibility for organising and supervising work on Construction sites including the planning and controlling of work methods, allocation of equipment, personnel and materials, and ensuring work is completed to the required standard and ensuring communication is clear and effective.
The qualification is at Level 4, although some units may be at different levels. Level 4 qualifications are primarily aimed at those who are fully trained and experienced in a wide range of roles and requires the individual to be actively involved in decision making and have a good understanding of problems that can occur on Construction sites and be able to deal with them.
This course is available as part of a Personal Learning Account (PLA). PLA is an initiative from the Welsh Government which offers people the chance to access free, part-time courses with flexible and convenient learning that fits around their existing lifestyle (subject to eligibility).

... anyone aged 19+, living in Wales, in employment. The usual salary limit of £30,596 does not apply to this course.
... those individuals who are involved in the domestic building sector, particularly those who are already involved or are looking to become involved in decarbonisation/energy efficiency projects
... those working in the construction industry and specialising in retrofit
Course content
Because of the wide range of tasks that take place on Construction sites it is not expected that those who have supervisory responsibilities will all do the same activities; the qualification is structured to ensure that there is a high degree of flexibility within the units available, that look to cover all the different trades involved in domestic energy efficiency.
We'll work with you to identify the most appropriate 'pathways' for you.
You will be enrolled onto an online system, where you can keep track of your progression, can communicate with your tutor/assessor directly about anything you are not sure about and receive guidance throughout the whole process.
There are no classroom lessons, just practical on-site visit(s) by your tutor/assessor. Any on-site visits are designed to have minimal impact to your working day.
Entry Requirements
You will be assessed based upon your current knowledge, any questions and professional discussions can be done in your own time. To undertake any NVQ you will need to have prior knowledge and experience of the chosen skill/pathway.
Candidates will also be required to prove knowledge of legislation, leading teams and maintaining and improving the standards of work.
You must have basic level of literacy, be in employment and have access to an observable working situation. Basic IT skills may be required but aren't essential.
