A minimum of three GCSEs Grade C or above including Maths/Maths Numeracy and English Language (or equivalent). You would also need at least one of the following:

In a nutshell
The Foundation Degree in Exercise and Wellness Management provides a contemporary curriculum, developing you with a skillset that prepares you for a range of careers in this rewarding and internationally developing field of study. The programme offers a new and vibrant area of academic exploration that has been designed in recognition of the needs of the industry, through consultation with key employers including exercise, fitness and wellness industry professionals.

The course aims to provide flexible learning opportunities to develop, apply and reflect on the provision of wellness practices, providing opportunities for you to advance a sound base of knowledge of the theories that underpin exercise and wellness management.
This exciting course combines exercise and wellness with management to provide you with a Foundation Degree that will enable you to pursue a career in the health and fitness sector.

What will I be doing?

This industry-led course provides you with the tools to achieve this, plus you’ll gain experience of the nature of the modern work environment.

You’ll be taught through a combination of lectures, seminars, practical sessions and group work and assessed through exams, assignments, practical assessments, presentations and projects. You’ll also complete a work-based module, where you put what you learn in the classroom into practice in the workplace. And if you want to take your studies further, the course is a perfect stepping-stone to an Exercise and Management honours degree.

What comes next?
Employment in sports development, fitness instruction, outdoors instruction or exercise and health promotion. With further study you may also become a physical education teacher.
You can choose to top up to BSc (Hons) Exercise and Wellness Management.
The exercise and wellness sector is one of the most diverse in terms of employment in the United Kingdom. The industry covers a wide range of areas with jobs in sectors such as health and fitness, wellness lifestyle and coaching, wellness tourism, fitness mind and body, preventive health and wellbeing and workplace wellness.
This course is aimed at students who work or want to work in one of the many areas of the health and exercise science sector. It combines academic study with vocational experience and will provide knowledge, understanding and skills in areas of business and management, anatomy and physiology, nutrition, fitness and exercise, coaching and mentoring.
