In a nutshell
This course is ideal for anyone working in, or intending to work, in the Health and Social Care sector who can attend college one day a week to study. It’s a new qualification that covers the key concepts in Health & Social Care, reflecting the new ALL WALES INDUCTION FRAMEWORK FOR HEALTH AND SOCIAL CARE that now underpins many of the new qualifications in this sector.
This course is for...
…anyone aged 16 or over currently working, or intending to work in, the Health and Social Care sector.
…domiciliary care workers who haven’t yet registered with Social Care Wales and need to do so by 2021.
…adult care workers who haven’t yet registered with Social Care Wales and need to do so by 2022.
The course covers a range of knowledge and understanding around health and social care, including:
- Principles and Values of health and social care [adults]
- Health and well-being [adults]
- Professional practice as a health and social care worker
- Safeguarding individuals
- Health and safety in health and social care
You’ll be assessed by a mixture of externally set case studies and multiple choice questions, and after successful completion of the course you could progress to Level 2 or 3 principles and contexts qualification or practice qualification, or find a job in the health and social care sector.
No previous experience is needed for this course, just a desire to succeed in the care industry.
A work placement on this course isn’t essential, but it would be to your advantage to have either a volunteer placement or previous experience in the care sector.
After booking your course you have 14 days to change your mind and request a full refund. You can still request a refund after this date, but this will only be given if you meet the criteria from the college fee policy.
If your chosen course starts within 14 days of you booking your place, then the 14 day refund policy does not apply and any refund will be subject to the college fee policy.
All courses may be subject to change and cancelled if deemed not viable to run.
