The aim of this qualification is to equip the learner with the skills and knowledge required to plan and adapt a safe and effective exercise programme for a disabled client. This qualification is endorsed by the Chartered Institute for the management of sport and physical activity (CIMSPA).

...those already employed as an exercise instructor who are seeking to be able to work unsupervised with disabled clients
...those wishing to use the qualification as a platform for progression on to further learning.
Course content
Elements covered as part of this course include:
- the principles of exercise for disabled people
- programming and supervising exercise for disabled people
- know the scope of the responsibility of the instructor in the context of disability
- understand the legal and ethical issues surrounding disability
- know the implications of conditions and impairments when working with disabled clients
- how to instruct and evaluate an exercise session with a disabled client
Entry Requirements
You need to have completed the following units prior to the course:
- Level 2 Certificate in Fitness Instructing or equivalent
After booking your course you have 14 days to change your mind and request a full refund. You can still request a refund after this date, but this will only be given if you meet the criteria from the college fee policy.
