In a nutshell

The Level 3 Award in adapting exercise for Ante-natal and Post-natal clients will allow fitness professionals to recognise the skills, knowledge and competence required in order to work with ante and post-natal clients in an unsupervised manner. There will be focus on the considerations for safe and effective exercise and how to plan and adapt exercise for these particular clients.

This qualification is endorsed by the Chartered Institute for the management of sport and physical activity (CIMSPA).

Course content

Modules covered:

  • Considerations for safe and effective exercise for ante and post-natal clients.
  • Programme design for ante-natal and post-natal clients.

How will you be assessed:

  • Multiple choice question theory paper.
  • Written worksheet.
  • Written case study/ programme design.

Entry Requirements

Learners must have completed one of the following:

  • YMCA Awards Level 2 Certificate in Fitness Instructing
  • YMCA Awards Level 2 Certificate in Fitness Walking
  • YMCA Awards Level 3 Diploma in Teaching Yoga
  • YMCA Awards Level 3 Diploma in Teaching Pilates

Additional information

The course is taught by qualified fitness lecturers.

Course is delivered over 3-4 days (typically on weekends).

REPs CPD points: 20

CIMPSA Endorsed CPD points: 10
