Coleg Gwent has won the British Council’s award ‘Building International Partnerships’ at this year’s ColegauCymru FE Awards for developing a range of successful partnerships with institutions in Vietnam, South Africa and Morocco.
ColegauCymru’s Annual FE Awards demonstrate sector-leading practice within further education by learners, teachers and colleges.
The award recognises enrichment in teaching and learning for Further Education Institutions through the integration of an international dimension to the curriculum and the staff development programme.
Coleg Gwent Principal, Jim Bennett said: “I am delighted to receive this award on behalf of Coleg Gwent. It’s a recognition of a huge amount of work done by our staff on top of busy schedules, developing informative and constructive links with other professionals across the globe. These links are already bearing fruit in a richer experience for learners on both sides of our partnerships.”
Dr Greg Walker, ColegauCymru Chief Executive, said: “Congratulations to all the winners and to those who were shortlisted. These awards ensure that best practice is properly recognised. The awards are also central to colleges’ continual efforts to raise standards across the board by learning from the best.”
