The ILM Level 5 Award in Leadership & Management Skills has been designed to give new, practicing or aspiring middle managers a solid foundation for their formal development in their role. There are no formal entry requirements but participants will normally be either practicing or aspiring middle managers with the opportunity to meet the assessment requirements.
This course will help candidates to develop their skills and experience, and will assist them in improving their performance and prepare them for senior management responsibilities.
The Award will cover two units from the Level 5 qualification: 1. Becoming an effective leader - this unit will develop knowledge and understanding of effective leadership as required by a practising or potential middle manager. Candidates will be able to recognise key responsibilities of the leadership role and evaluate their own ability to lead others. 2. Leading innovation and change - this unit will look at the need to develop innovation and change in management. Candidates will be able to propose innovative solutions to improve organisational performance and will be able to lead and manage change within an organisation.
This course is normally run over six days at Royal Chambers. Successful candidates will be awarded the ILM Level 5 Award in Leadership and Management but may wish to progress to the ILM Level 5 Certificate or Diploma in Leadership & Management by adding further units to those already achieved or to progress on to the ILM Level 7 NVQ Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership.
