Target Audience

This course is designed for those who would like to gain a comprehensive understanding of the fundamental features of the MS Access database programme. There are no formal entry requirements for this course as you will be guided through the skills that you will need to develop a sound working knowledge of the programme, and how to best utilise its features.

Course Aims

This course has been specifically designed to give new users a solid foundation in using and creating databases thus enabling them to use Access efficiently and effectively in the workplace.

Course Objectives

The course covers a broad range of skills to encompass the fundamental and most commonly used features of the programme. Upon completion of this course, you should be competent in: Understanding the workspace Access basics Essentials of good database design Setting up database tables Setting fields, data types and field boundaries, primary key Filtering and Querying your data Basic querying techniques. Setting up and using Forms Creating basic Reports Backup of data.

Course Duration

1 day course (6 hours). Candidates will be awarded a college certificate of attendance upon completion of the course. Progression Opportunities: Databases MS Access Intermediate.
