This course is aimed at individuals who are responsible for planning, monitoring and organising the health, safety and welfare provision of other members of staff. This course will provide up to date knowledge of current legislation, as well as touching on other areas that are concerned with safe working practice within the built environment and construction industries.
This course is intended to provide guidance on the management of health and safety on site, and to ensure that operations are carried out in accordance with current legislation. Candidates will also be made aware of the accountability for health, safety and welfare of employees working on site.
The qualification covers the following topics: The Health and Safety at Work Act Construction Design and Management Regulations 2015 Site set-up Risk assessments and method statements Working at heights Scaffolding Electricity Excavations Demolition Working in confined spaces Recent changes in accepted working practice.
This course is normally delivered over 5 days. Candidates will be required to complete a 25 question exam at the end of the course which will include multiple choice questions and short written answers. Candidates will also be assessed throughout the course and will be expected to participate in group work. Successful candidates will receive a certificate that is valid for 5 years.
