Target Audience

This course is aimed at site managers, safety officers and those who hold senior line management responsibilities for the safety of others within the workplace environment. This course would support individuals considering a change of career into construction health and safety.

Course Aims

This course will help managers/advisors discharge their organisational duties or functions more effectively with respect to construction workplace health and safety. Candidates will gain a comprehensive understanding of both individual and organisational health and safety responsibilities.

Course Objectives

Successful candidates will gain knowledge and skills in:  Foundations in health and safety policy and organising  Promoting a positive health and safety culture  Risk assessment and principles of control  Monitoring review and audit  Incident and accident investigation and reporting  Construction law and management  Management and controlling hazards in construction activities

Course Duration

This course is normally delivered over 18 days (including all examinations) in a classroom environment. Successful completion of the course allows you to apply for Technical Membership of IOSH. Candidates may then wish to progress onto the NEBOSH National Diploma in Health and Safety or the City & Guilds Level 5 NVQ Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety Practice.
