Coleg Gwent students studying health and childcare have also added the Welsh language to their skills with the help of Gwent Welsh for Adults Centre, based at the College’s Pontypool Campus.
The Pontypool Campus students have completed nine five week taster courses in Welsh as part of their qualification, learning basic patterns such as parts of the body, counting, items of clothing and colours.
Welsh in the Workplace Development Officer Sean Driscoll said: “Welsh language skills will be useful to health and childcare students when they are looking for employment in the sector after their courses.
“Well done to all students for their achievements and best of luck for the future.”
Hair and beauty students at Coleg Gwent’s Crosskeys Campus will also be taking part in Welsh language courses run by the centre.
From those just beginning in business to established enterprises, Coleg Gwent’s Welsh for Adults Centre provides Welsh training for many different workplaces. Training providers First 4 Skills recently returned to the centre for a 10 week course to learn counting, answering the phone and asking for items around the office.
