There are many career opportunities in the Health & Social Care and Childcare sectors and the demand for experienced work has arisen due to demographic change. Typically, a Level 1 course will allow you to work in a supervised capacity, Level 2 would have delegated responsibility and Level 3 in a supervisory capacity or progression to Higher Education.
Few careers offer people jobs worth caring about as much as those in Health & Social Care. Whether it is working with children or adults, there are a variety of opportunities that will allow you to gain practical experience before entering the workplace.
This challenging and interesting area of study is suitable for people who have a deep interest in the care and education of children, and a commitment to become a safe, professional and effective practitioner.
Level 1 Childcare and Health & Social Care
These courses give an introduction to the areas of work and enable progression to Level 2.
Level 2 Childcare and Health & Social Care
Qualifications at this level provide entry to careers such as a childcare assistant or care assistant and progression to Level 3.
Level 3 Childcare and Health & Social Care
Career opportunities include working as a childcare supervisor, childminder or social care assistant. You may also progress to Higher Education programme such as nursing, teaching, social work or occupational therapy.
