Working in hairdressing, beauty or the complementary therapies industries offers a career like no other, because they are people service industries, where no two days are ever the same, so work is never monotonous or boring.
It has been said that ‘if you do a job you love, you’ll never work a day in your life.’ This is very true in these exciting fields of work, with employees often topping national polls of the happiest workers in the UK.
The hairdressing, beauty and complementary therapy industries have transformed over the past decade and you will now find as well as high street salons, that health spas, hairdressing salons and nail bars have sprung up in towns and cities all over the UK and abroad.
If you are creative, dedicated, determined, have a passion for people and are a good communicator, then this could be the career path for you. Our courses start at Level 1, which is a basic Level and progress to Level 3 with some Level 4 advanced units on offer which train you in advanced treatments and procedures within the industry.
Typically you would start your training at Level 1 which will equip you with the foundation knowledge to progress through the Levels, and treatments and procedures that are more advanced in their application. Some courses start at a higher level, for example the Level 3 in Complementary Therapies.
We offer courses on a full time, part time, and evening basis across four campuses, so there should be something on offer locally to suit you.
You will train in the College’s fully equipped salons, which are open to the public, allowing you to hone your skills in a realistic environment.
