Two former Coleg Gwent music students have been busy making their names in the music business since completing their courses in 2009.
The talented students have gained a record deal with Warner Bros. Music, supported pop sensation Olly Murs on an arena tour and celebrated the release of their own debut single.
Welsh singer-songwriters Jon Lilygreen and Jon Maguire, known as Lilygreen and Maguire, both studied music at Coleg Gwent’s Crosskeys Campus.
The duo from Newport recently took part in a series of free open-air gigs around Wales to celebrate the release of their debut single ‘Come on Get Higher’ and to promote their new single ‘Ain’t Love Crazy’.
The pair, both in their early twenties, have already built up a fan-base after supporting X-Factor runner-up Olly Murs in his recent arena tour of the UK and Ireland. They are also well known within south Wales’ music scene; Jon Lilygreen as a covers performer and Jon Maguire as a local music producer and member of a rock band.
They came together in 2009 when their talent was spotted by Warner Bros. Music and their debut album will be released later this year.
